STEP ABOARD AND HAVE THE LAKE HOUSEBOAT ADVENTURE THAT YOU'VE ALWAYS DREAMED OF!

DAY TRIP – 10 People

Up to 10 people. A single day trip will leave the slip at roughly 10:00 to 11:00 AM and return to the slip by 7:00 PM, and you must disembark and bid farewell to your captain with memories that you'll not soon forget! You must book a Day Trip Plus Overnight to stay on the boat overnight.

DAY TRIP PLUS OVERNIGHT – 8 People

To stay on the boat overnight you must book a Day Trip Plus Overnight and you are allowed up to 8 people. After spending the day on the lake, your captain will depart once the boat is safely back in the slip and secured, to allow your party their overnight privacy. Then your captain will return the next morning to take you out on the lake again, weather permitting.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

You will need to bring the following items for your stay;

  • If you have booked a Day Trip Plus Overnight and plan to stay on the boat overnight you will need to bring full-sized sheets and pillowcases for up to 4 beds - up to 8 people. We supply the 4 beds, pillows, and blankets, but you supply the sheets and pillowcases. There are no laundry facilities at the marina that would allow us to supply this bedding.
  • You supply your own food and drink, ice, coffee, toiletries, swimwear, swim towels, enough clothing for your stay, etc. We are only about 4 miles from Pella, IA grocery/clothing stores if you need to pick up some items during your stay. Pack light and use the smallest bag or suitcase that you can, because you will be on a boat and there is not a lot of room for luggage.

Dreamboat has ample life jackets for adults. If you have children in your party, you are responsible for bringing a life jacket suitable for each child, or you may purchase the required life jackets at the marina store.

WE CAN'T CONTROL THE WEATHER

While we will make every attempt to get you out on the lake, we cannot guarantee that the weather will cooperate on any given day. It is possible that stormy weather, high winds or even an unfavorable weather forecast could mean that you stay at the dock. If the weather doesn't allow the boat to leave the slip, you will receive a 30% refund for that day. Just keep in mind that we have many more favorable days each season than unfavorable ones. Please note that your captain will use his experience to choose your destination on the lake according to wind speed and direction so that the anchor will be sure to hold the boat.

WHAT WE PROVIDE

Dreamboat will provide the boat, your captain to operate the boat, and the fuel to reach a destination on the lake, chosen by the captain, that is favorable for anchoring, weather permitting. If you decide that you want to cruise around sightseeing the entire time out, there will be a $200 fuel surcharge.

The boat has 4 sleeping areas (berths) with full-sized beds – the Private Master in the rear sleeps 2 adults and has a closable door for privacy, a dresser, a nightstand, and a shared master bath (head) with a shower.

The communal cuddy area in the front and down the stairs sleeps 4 adults, has 2 full-sized beds, pillows, comforters and 1 head (restroom) with a shower.

There is also a fold-out full-size futon in the salon that sleeps 2.

The galley (kitchen) has a 3-burner electric stove, a small oven, and a full-sized refrigerator with an upper freezer, plates, utensils. The salon (living room) has incredible views and ample seating for 10, a 32” flat-screen TV with a Fire Stick. Wi-Fi is provided. The exterior of the boat boasts 4 different decks to hang out on, all with shade and seating. You must provide sheets and pillowcases for the beds and all your food, drink, toiletries, towels, swimwear, etc.

Terms & Conditions

*Boating can be an inherently dangerous activity and your safety is our number one priority. While we will make every effort and attempt to get you out on the water to swim, cruise around sightseeing or whatever your pleasure might be, our experienced Captain has sole discretion on whether or not to take the boat out of the slip due to weather, mechanical issues, safety issues or for any reason whatsoever. The Captain also has sole discretion on when to return to the slip.

*Wind speed is usually the number one determining factor on whether or not the boat can leave the slip or anchor out during the day. High winds make house-boating unpredictable and accidents and damage to the vessel are more likely to occur. It is possible that your "out on the lake" adventure is cut short or canceled altogether for a day or two due to weather or other safety factors. There is no guarantee that the boat will leave the slip if the weather doesn't cooperate, or stay out on the lake if there is weather moving in. Keep in mind that we have many more favorable days than unfavorable. If you do get stuck at the dock for a day, you can still enjoy the boat, a beautiful view and a 16 X 24 foot furnished patio in front of the boat at the slip. Please read the cancellation / refund policy below.

*Another Safety Factor: Excessive Intoxication. If you show up with a party member who appears excessively intoxicated, the Captain will most likely not leave the slip. If a member of your party becomes excessively intoxicated while out on the lake, the Captain will most likely return to the slip. If you or anyone in your party is running, jumping from one deck to another, trying to jump off the boat, roughhousing, trying to throw others overboard, etc., your stay out on the lake may be cut short and the boat may be returned to the slip. Out on the lake is no place for these behaviors. We want you to have the time of your life, but we will not gamble with your safety, the safety of our Captain or the safety of the vessel. "Dreamin's Free" is a very nice, yacht-certified houseboat, BUT IT IS NOT A PARTY BARGE OR A FRAT HOUSE. You are welcome to enjoy your favorite adult beverages, but you will be on a very nice boat... a boat belonging to someone else, and adult responsible behavior is expected, especially if you have children with you. If your adventure is cut short due to excessive intoxication, belligerence or any other reason that the Captain determines is due to your unsafe behavior or illegal actions, the boat will return to the slip and you may be required to depart for the day.

*Anyone under 13 must wear a life jacket at the slip, on the dock, and on the boat, unless they are inside the cabin of the boat. No exceptions. It's the law.

*You cannot flush anything down the heads unless you have eaten it first. Not even toilet paper. Marine heads are a marvel of nautical and mechanical engineering, but something as small as a hank of hair or a match stick can render it inoperable, and there are no plumbers on the lake. There is a trash can to dispose of your trash and toilet paper.

*No pets. There's nowhere to take them to the bathroom.

*"Red drinks" are taboo on a boat.  That includes red wine, red soft drinks, red juices, etc. Not because of any nautical superstition, but because boats pitch and roll and drinks often spill and red drinks stain just about anything that they spill on. You can have them onboard, but if they spill and stain, that will be considered damage and you agree that your credit card will be charged for cleanup and/or repairs.

*You supply and prepare your own food and drink. You will have access to the kitchen including a stove, oven, pots and pans, full size fridge, coffee maker, coffee filters, etc. and there is a small gas grill on the front deck that you are also welcomed to use. You are required to wash any dishes used and put them away where you got them.

*If you have booked one or more Day Trip Plus Overnight and plan to stay overnights on the boat, you are responsible for bringing your own bedding, towels, washcloths, and toiletries. (There are no laundry facilities at the marina that would facilitate us supplying these items.) You will need full-size sheets and pillowcases. We provide the beds, pillows, and a comforter on each bed. There are also restrooms at the marina store with showers if you prefer a bit larger shower.

*You cannot exit the boat and get in the lake without a flotation device of some sort. At age 13 or over you don't legally have to wear a life jacket if you don't want to, but you cannot swim off of this boat without some sort of flotation device. This is a strict Dreamboat policy, your captain will enforce it and you agree to it when you book, and there are no exceptions. It doesn't matter if you are an Olympic swimmer. We have plenty of flotation devices onboard, grab one before you get in. Also, you cannot jump off of the decks of the boat. Red Rock is a river lake, with logs and trees that float downstream, sometimes floating just below the surface where you can't see them so you never know where they are. You can step off the swim platform or climb down the swim ladder to access the lake. The Captain is not a lifeguard, so swim at your own risk. You are responsible for your entire party.

*The Captain will be monitoring the weather, wind, barometer, water conditions, waves, swells, activity of other boats and other conditions at all times, and if the Captain says it's time to go back to the slip, it's time to go back to the slip. The weather and the lake can turn bad quickly.

*Ever seen the movie, "Overboard" with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell? People fall overboard. It does happen. Please keep an eye on your entire party, especially children. The Captain will instruct every able-bodied adult to keep an eye on your entire party. Children must be inside the boat when underway or wearing a life jacket and accompanied by an adult. It is highly recommended that everyone remain seated while the boat is underway above no wake speed.

*Lake Red Rock is controlled by the Army Corps of Engineers, which means... no fireworks, even on the 4th of July. Besides, we have 2 - 75 gallon fuel tanks on board at the rear of the boat in the engine compartment.

*Smoking and cooking on the grill is on the front deck only. Please discard your butts in the receptacles provided and not in the lake.

*No hard-soled shoes, hi-heels, cowboy boots, work boots, etc. Soft-soled shoes or bare feet only.

*Quiet Time at the marina begins at 10:00 PM. After 10:00 PM please keep your music and conversations to an acceptable noise level so as to not disturb the other slip-holders.

*Occupancy at the slip in the evenings is limited to the number of people in your booked group only. You cannot invite additional people to come to the slip.

*You must leave the boat in the same condition that you found it. Bedding that you brought should be removed from beds, any dishes that you've used should be washed and put away, counters and tables wiped off, pick up any messes (inside and outside), vacuum the carpet if needed, empty the trash cans and dispose of any trash in the dumpsters provided by the marina. Be sure to take everything that you brought with you when you leave.

Refund Policy

*You may cancel your reservation and get a full refund up to 30 days out from your stay. If you cancel between 30 days and 7 days of your stay you will receive a 50% refund. If you cancel within 7 days of your stay there will be no refund but we will offer to book your stay at our next available date.

*If the weather does not allow the boat to leave the slip on a day that you have booked, you will receive a 30% refund of the cost for that day. You can still enjoy the boat and the patio at the slip.

*You will be charged a $250 Security/Cleaning deposit at the time of booking that will be refunded in full as long as you complete your booking and leave the boat clean and with no damage. In the event of damage caused to the boat, it's fixtures or finishes, by you or any member of your party, you agree that any required percentage of your deposit up to 100% will be retained and your credit card on file will be charged for repairs if the damage is in excess of your security deposit. We do not offer a damage waiver.
